Tessera

Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 August 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Tessera is operated by Tessera Trades Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17259024, at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

These terms govern your use of the Tessera dashboard, website, and related services. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Tessera.

Our Privacy Policy at tesseratrades.com/privacy-policy explains how we handle your information and forms part of these terms.

2. What Tessera is, and what it is not

Tessera is a trading journal and analysis tool. It imports your closed trades, shows you statistics, generates reports, and lets you test rule changes against trades you have already taken.

Tessera is not a broker. We do not hold your funds, place trades, close positions, or execute anything on your behalf. You trade at your broker. Tessera reads the history.

Tessera is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We do not provide regulated financial services.

Tessera does not provide financial advice. Nothing in the product is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any instrument, or to adopt any trading strategy. Reports, findings, suggested stop and target distances, policies, and AI-generated summaries are analysis of your own past trades, presented for your review. All trading decisions are yours.

Past performance does not indicate future results. Analysis of historical trades tells you what happened. It does not tell you what will happen.

Risk warning

Trading carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose more than your initial investment. You should not trade with money you cannot afford to lose. If you are unsure, seek independent advice from a qualified financial adviser.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 to use Tessera.

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at support@tesseratrades.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

You must give accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.

4. Subscriptions, pricing, and billing

Plans. Tessera is offered on Standard and Plus plans, billed monthly or annually. Current pricing is at tesseratrades.com/pricing

Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate, unless you cancel.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access until then. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time in a period you have already paid for, except where section 5 applies or where the law requires otherwise.

Price changes. We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before a change affects your subscription, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

Usage limits. Plans include limits on reports per week and on how many simulations can be saved to a report at one time. Current limits are shown on the pricing page. Deleting a saved simulation frees the slot immediately.

Failed payments. If a payment fails we may suspend access until payment succeeds.

5. Your right to cancel within 14 days

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason. The period starts the day after your subscription begins.

How to cancel. Email support@tesseratrades.com. You can use any clear statement of your decision to cancel.

Refunds. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, using the same payment method you used.

If you asked us to start immediately. If you cancel within the 14 day period after using the service, we may deduct an amount proportionate to the service already provided, up to the point you told us you were cancelling.

This right is in addition to the cancellation terms in section 4.

6. Your content

You own what you put in. Your trades, notes, tags, strategy descriptions, and Pine Script source remain yours. We claim no ownership.

Pine Script specifically. Any script you paste into a strategy stays your intellectual property. We store it encrypted, use it only to operate the features you have asked for, and do not share, publish, resell, or analyse it for any other purpose.

The licence you give us. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, subject to the retention period in our Privacy Policy.

Your responsibility. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that doing so does not breach anyone else's rights or any agreement you have with your broker or platform.

7. Broker connections

You are responsible for the credentials you provide and for complying with your broker's terms.

We only request read access. Where your broker issues API keys, you should create keys with read permissions only. Tessera does not need trading permissions and will not use them.

Accuracy. Imported data reflects what your broker or your uploaded file provides. Incomplete or incorrect imports produce incomplete or incorrect analysis. It is your responsibility to check that your imported history is complete before relying on it.

Availability. Broker connections depend on third party systems we do not control. We cannot guarantee any connection will remain available.

8. Exports to TradingView

Tessera can generate Pine Script from your saved policies for you to use on TradingView.

Tessera and TradingView are different systems. A composed script carries entry gates and stop and target distances. Breakeven moves, trailing stops, and time based exits are applied when you simulate in Tessera, but appear as labels on TradingView and do not move orders there.

Results will differ. TradingView's fills, spreads, and execution model are not the same as your broker's, and not the same as Tessera's analysis of your actual trades. Validate in Tessera, and treat TradingView output as a separate exercise.

Your responsibility. You are responsible for reviewing any generated script before using it, and for complying with TradingView's terms.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use Tessera for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code
  • Scrape, copy, or resell any part of the service
  • Upload malicious code, or content you have no right to upload
  • Share your account with others, or resell access
  • Use the service in a way that degrades it for others

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

10. Our intellectual property

Tessera, including the software, interface, analysis methods, documentation, educational content, and branding, is owned by Tessera Trades Ltd and protected by intellectual property law. Your subscription gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. It does not transfer any ownership.

11. Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Tessera available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, and may change, add, or remove features.

If we make a change that materially reduces the functionality you are paying for, we will give reasonable notice and you may cancel and receive a proportionate refund for the unused part of your billing period.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

We are not responsible for your trading decisions or their outcomes. Tessera provides analysis of your own past trades. What you do with that analysis, and any profit or loss that follows, is yours.

Subject to the above, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Trading losses of any kind
  • Loss of profit, revenue, or anticipated savings
  • Inaccurate or incomplete data received from brokers, files you upload, or market data providers
  • Results produced on TradingView or any other platform from scripts generated by Tessera
  • Interruption caused by third party systems we do not control

Our total liability to you in any 12 month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.

13. Ending your account

You can cancel or delete your account at any time from your settings.

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

When your account ends, your data is retained for 30 days and then deleted, as set out in our Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep before then.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or in the product. Continuing to use Tessera after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you can cancel.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in the EEA, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings there.
